The Problem

Turkana county and it's neighboring community still uses 90% of harvested firewood and three stone mode of cooking at 50%.

In our area of operations the Kakuma refugees and host community respiratory illness case has for past 3 years skyrocketed due to high emissions and dirty cooking solutions. Exposing them to death and high environmental pollution.

The Solution

Usafi green energy is early 2019 began a journey to provide clean energy solutions to these marginalized communities in the bottom of the pyramid. We have so far reduced indoor emissions by 45% through selling over 15,000 clean cookstoves and 34tons of Briquettes.

Low cases of respiratory illness cases has been reported based on our quality hospital inspection tours. We have partnered with LOKADO ngo in providing seedlings to green back our land from the dangers of logging that was there before.

USAFI Energy has created over 200 distributorship dealers employment selling our products. With an impact targeting over 300,000 by end of 2026 and schools at 2000 using modern clean cooking solutions from Briquettes to biogas and E-cooking solutions

The Impact

Since we began our production operations in 2021 we have so far sold over 15,000 domestic Cookstoves, Social institutions cookstoves at 177 pcs done across the country.

Biomass Briquettes sold so far is 117tons both to industrial clients and domestic clients.

We have so far covered 6.5 hectares of land through planting of seedlings in partnership with local communities and LOKADO ngo.

Our Value proposition

We convert the dangerous invasive prosopis juliflora tree in the Nothern part of Kenya into clean fuel called biomass Briquettes.

We then have two Production site that does manufacture clean cookstoves our brands of various sizes called USAFI silver Bora cookstoves both for domestic and institutional usages, We use waste drums and new 304 iron sheets for production to produce average 2500 cookstoves a month.

We provide solar home systems to our end users on PAYGO models.

The Energy Hub

Usafi green energy in 2023 launched an energy hub in Turkana to showcase our work. Also to provide free training and certification for the artisan through partnerships with NITA. Our hub focuses on clean energy solutions namely.
